The cheapest and most widely used
fire extinguishers. Used for Class A fires. Not suitable for Class B (Liquid) fires, or where electricity is involved.Water extinguishers are for Class A fires only – they should not be used on Class B or C fires. The discharge stream could spread the flammable liquid in a Class B fire or could create a shock hazard on a Class C fire.
These are the most inexpensive and commonly used fire extinguishers. Used only for Class A fires but neither appropriate for Class B fires where the flammable liquid can spread nor for class C fire where the involvement of electricity can create a shock risk.
